May I ask if the first reviewer agreed to review the manuscript for over ten days, then it showed that a new reviewer was being sought, and three days later it showed that at least four reviewers had started reviewing the manuscript. Is this because the first reviewer completed the review and found a second reviewer, or did the first reviewer leave? Has anyone encountered this issue?

Hello, how long does it take for the editor to review the manuscript you submitted to PS?

I have published several papers in this journal and often review manuscripts for peer review. Overall, I feel that it is relatively easy to get published here, but the process is slow. I would not recommend submitting to this journal if you are in a hurry to graduate. 

My most recent submission experience was as follows: I submitted on February 25, 2025, and found three reviewers. On April 4, 2025, I received the first round of reviews, all of which were quite positive, but required major revisions from the editor. I submitted the revised manuscript on April 25, 2025. On May 22, 2025, I received the second round of reviews, one reviewer had no further comments, but the other two provided additional feedback. I submitted the final revision on May 27, 2025. On June 24, 2025, I received the final decision, which was a provisional acceptance. It usually takes several more days to receive formal acceptance, and I estimate that the paper will not be officially published until September... Overall, the entire process is just too slow.

I am also one of the four reviewers. After the first major revision, two reviewers agreed. After the second major revision, I received a response this week saying that one reviewer was not satisfied with the changes, and the manuscript has been sent to the board members for review. Currently, I am awaiting referee reports.

The first submission was made on January 15th, the revised manuscript was submitted on May 23rd after a major revision, and on June 7th it showed "waiting for decision". After waiting for about a week, I sent an email on the 13th to inquire about the progress, and they immediately sent it for review. Be cautious when submitting to this journal.
