After the initial submission, I was informed that there were copyright issues with some of the figures in my paper, which resulted in it being returned. Then on July 31st, it was changed to "With Editor," marking the beginning of the second round.

The revised manuscript came back on the 27th, with 5 reviewers giving 5 minor revisions. However, the editor requested major revisions, which were just submitted last night. Now we are waiting for further instructions.

On the 17th, I received an email stating that the editor has received three sets of review comments but is still organizing them. However, today is already July 24th and the status is still "under review". I am speechless. Is the efficiency here so low that it takes a week just to organize review comments and it's still not done?

Mine is similar as well. I submitted a minor revision in September 25th, and it is still under review. During this time, I have written to the editor and received a reply saying they have received the reviewers' comments, but the Associate Editor has left. Now, I am preparing to withdraw the submission.

The submission was made on August 4, 2025. It took 80 days for the first round of review with three reviewers providing feedback, which is considered a normal speed. After submitting revisions, it took 20 days to receive the second round of review. However, the editorial team did not process the submission for a month. It then took another month to reassign the submission to an editor for final proofreading. Finally, after another half month, the submission was searchable.

Submitted on 10th June 2026, the manuscript has undergone the editorial process of Editor Invited and With Editor. It has been under review since 22nd June up to the present.

I'll give you a heads up. I submitted an article at the end of 24, and so far, I've gone through three rounds of revisions based on reviewer comments. During the process, one editor disappeared, and the most recent round of revisions from January 26th has been silent for six months. Recently, another editor vanished, and now it's back in the hands of external reviewers. It's an endless cycle...

This journal, if lucky, can quickly find academic editors, and if the requested reviewers are also responsible, and the academic editors are responsible, they can provide feedback and revisions within a month.
