Submitted on 8th September 2024, reviewed on 21st September 2020, received major revisions from external review on 16th December 2024, returned for revisions on 4th January 2025. Then, one of the reviewers disappeared, and the editor had to invite a new reviewer, but no one accepted the invitation until 9th May 2025 when minor revision suggestions were finally received, all related to reference formatting. Returned for revisions on 12th May 2025, only to be rejected on 7th June 2025 - the minor revisions were rejected! The reviewer mentioned that my formatting changes were incorrect and told me how to correct them, so why didn't they mention this earlier?! I refused to accept the rejection and on 9th June 2025, I contacted the customer service of the publisher for an appeal. On 15th June 2025, I was informed that the appeal was successful, and the editor gave me another chance for revisions. Submitted revisions on 18th June 2025, received acceptance notification on 17th July 2025, and the final version was officially published on 29th July 2025. The whole process took a total of 10 and a half months.
