Received the most unexpected result. This afternoon, I received an email of decision, which turned out to be a rejection. The second reviewer in the first round agreed to publish, while the first reviewer disappeared. The editor invited the third reviewer, who probably didn't even read the paper carefully. I made revisions on January 10th, and by January 15th, one reviewer had completed the review (presumably the second reviewer). After a long delay in finding a replacement for the missing reviewer (the first reviewer), a second reviewer was finally invited on February 1st (presumably the third reviewer). However, the status of the paper remained unchanged. In frustration, I sent a reminder on March 10th, and today I received feedback (presumably the editor's reminder to the third reviewer, who had been delaying the review). The third reviewer had only two comments: lack of originality and a suggestion to include a test material (which was unrelated to the topic of my paper). What's even more puzzling is that the editor's reason for rejection was that two out of three reviewers recommended rejection. However, there was no feedback from the first reviewer, the second reviewer agreed to publish, and the third reviewer did not explicitly recommend rejection. I have already sent an appeal email, but I am not very hopeful. Additionally, I would like to ask if anyone has any recommendations for non-open access SCI journals for the study of acoustic properties of foam concrete. The impact factor is not important, just a decent one would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

It feels very slow. Two months after the second review on March 10th, I emailed Researcher Support to inquire, and received a fairly official reply in the evening of the same day. The gist of it is that they are currently in the review process, and will notify me as soon as a decision is made. However, a week has passed and the status is still stuck on February 1st (no updates). I plan to contact the editor handling my paper directly next week if there is still no change, and I wonder if any authors with similar experiences have any other suggestions.

I submitted my paper on December 3, 2024, and received major revisions from two reviewers on December 24. I was given 28 days to revise, and I resubmitted on January 10, 2025. As of January 3, 2025, only 10 invitations have been sent out... with 0 acceptances. There have been about eight or nine reminders sent for reviewing the manuscript, but no responses. The editor is not in a hurry at all. It's really slow and frustrating.
