AA's second article, sharing the process:

It was initially rejected by a domestic EI journal, then translated and resubmitted to AA.
20250220: Submitted for review;
20250318 and 0325: Found two reviewers, had difficulty finding reviewers;
20250410: First round of feedback received (required to return by May 15, 2025), not much feedback, the first reviewer's feedback was vague and difficult to understand how to improve, the second was easier to address, possibly newer to the field;
20250601: Accepted for publication.
Around 100 days in total.
AA is considered average in the field, weaker than JASA and JOE, but it is in the second tier.

The first review was quick, requested major revisions after 1 month, with a deadline of one month.
The second review was a nightmare, couldn't find the reviewer, took a long time to find a new one, requested major revisions again, with a deadline of 2 weeks, extended by 1 week.
The third submission was on New Year's Eve, couldn't find the reviewer again, took over two months to find a new one, requested minor revisions, with a deadline of two weeks.
The fourth submission was after May Day, received the result in one day, the reviewer was reliable this time, accepted for publication, and the editor quickly sent an acceptance notification.

Conclusion: Unstable reviewers causing delays in the process. Choosing the open-access option is expensive, while the non-open access option requires publication after 24 months! It's too much, swallowing a bitter pill!
Recommendation: Be cautious when submitting!
