The submission was made on May 23rd, with editor on the 25th, and the date was changed once on the 28th. It is still with the editor until now. Laughing and crying ?.

After being rejected by JEM, I was too lazy to choose a journal and randomly selected one to resubmit to. The first round of revisions was major, the second round was minor, and the third round required adding a GenBank information. The overall review process took about 4 months. In general, the editors and chief editor were quite good, and the reviewers' opinions were also quite professional. The only issue was that the manuscript sat in the editor's hands for three and a half weeks during the third round of revisions, and only after sending a reminder did they finally send back the results, otherwise it could have been accepted about a month earlier.

Submitted in Aug 2025, accepted in Feb 2026 after three rounds of revisions. The editor invites new reviewers after each round of revisions, which can be challenging.
