Submitted on April 25, 2025, we received feedback by the end of May, two major revisions were required. By the end of July, after resubmitting the revised manuscript, the original two reviewers had left. The editor found a new reviewer whose feedback was not very helpful. By the end of August, we received feedback from the editor asking us to resubmit. After resubmitting at the end of September, we received feedback from two new reviewers, one minor revision and one major revision. We submitted the revised manuscript before Christmas and it was accepted on January 15, 2026. The teacher mentioned that it was a very tumultuous process, mainly because all three reviewers left at different stages, causing discontinuity in the feedback, making it easy for major revisions and quite challenging. Additionally, each reviewer mentioned language issues, but we used Elsevier's language editing service, so it is unclear why they made such comments, perhaps because we are a domestic institution. Furthermore, the reviewers may not have been very professional, and our research direction may not align well with this particular journal.

After about two months of major revisions, the manuscript was sent back for modifications as requested. One reviewer suggested rejection while another suggested acceptance. The editor requested revisions and resubmission.
With a trial-and-error mindset, the manuscript was revised and resubmitted on February 5, 2024.
After two more major revisions, it was finally accepted on November 19, 2024.

I have never encountered such a disgusting journal. What's even funnier is that two different journals, submitted at different times and through different processes, received rejection letters within two minutes of each other.
1. The first submission was on February 12, 2025, and was sent for review. It was only assigned to one reviewer, and no further action was taken. After three reminders during the external review process, it was unexpectedly rejected.
2. The second submission was on April 18, 2025, underwent external review, major revisions, and minor revisions. The first reviewer, who initially had positive feedback, rejected it, while the second reviewer agreed to accept it. The result was a rejection with the option to resubmit. After filing a complaint, a new reviewer was assigned, but it still ended in rejection. Interestingly, the positive feedback from the second reviewer was missing in the rejection comments.

On the 8th, I received the review comments, which required major revisions. Basically, they were all minor issues related to grammar and expression, so the problems were not significant. Since it was a reject and resubmit, I had already conducted many additional experiments before and made revisions for over 4 months. Therefore, there are basically no more experiments that can be added in this round.

Without a rejection, I can finally feel at ease. As a small and insignificant figure in the research field, with no background in science and having changed to numerous research directions, the first aquaculture paper was a bit challenging. However, I finally achieved a good result, and the acceptance is just around the corner!

Submission in August, with two reviewers taking a month to give feedback - one rejection and one minor revision. The editor summarily rejected the paper based on the reviewers' comments, but allowed for resubmission. Four months later, after conducting additional experiments and addressing all feedback, the revised paper was submitted again. The editor was efficient in handling the resubmission and the paper quickly entered the review process, with both reviewers seemingly accepting it. The final outcome remains uncertain. Personally, I feel that the article should be accepted with minor revisions. It's my first paper in aquaculture, so it's been quite challenging. Keeping my fingers crossed for good luck.
