In conclusion, since my first paper was published on WJMB in 2013, today's paper is already the fourth one. There have been a few rejections in between, but overall, the efficiency of this journal is quite high and getting faster. Especially this time, I received the review comments in less than a month. The Springer system is becoming more user-friendly, and the process is getting faster (excluding some individual journals, such as Biodegradation). Additionally, the impact factor and influence of WJMB are gradually increasing. Just the other day, I found out that it has already reached the 2nd quartile on the Journal Citation Reports. Looking at the trend of the impact factor, it is expected to enter Q1 this year. I sincerely hope that this conscientious journal will continue to improve!

At the moment I received the acceptance email, I felt not happy but a bit nervous, because I knew that I couldn't modify the content during the proofing process. So I immediately sent an email to the editor to explain the situation. Unexpectedly, the eproof email arrived before the editor's reply, giving me only two days to make changes. I nervously made all the necessary modifications and added comments, and the next day I finally received the editor's reply approving the changes. I once again anxiously wrote to the editor to inform them that I had completed the proofing. It was another long wait, and in the meantime, I received an email from the journal editor sent to the publisher and cc'd to me, asking them to pay attention to my requests for content modifications in the proof. Then there was no news until over three weeks later when the article was finally published online on March 26th. (I don't know if it was a special case for me or a new practice for the journal, but the day before going online, I received an email to confirm the final manuscript.)

I submitted on January 31. I feel the quality of the papers in this journal is still good, so it’s a shame that it has been changed from SCI to SCIE. I received the review comments on April 5, major revision, completely unexpected. There was one reviewer, gave me 5 comments and 6 weeks for review, basically asking me to rewrite the whole paper. I resubmitted on May 14 and the comments were back on May 22, minor revision. The editor only took one week to reply, and didn’t list any major problems, mostly just asking for a more elaborated description of the results. I thought it would take at least half a month for the review, because the paper probably would be sent to the original reviewer as this was major revision. I did not expect that the editor actually made the decision directly, perhaps because he saw that I revised the paper very carefully. So when I saw the review comments, more than 2 weeks had passed. I was given 4 weeks for this minor revision. I resubmitted on June 12, after again carefully revising the entire paper.
