Summary:
I feel that the AE (Associate Editor) is still very responsible. My submission was sent for review just 4 days after I submitted it. Due to the niche nature of my research, the AE has been helping me find reviewers. A total of 23 reviewers were invited, but only 3 agreed to review my paper. It took about 7 months for these 3 reviewers to complete their reviews, but the AE took another 3 months to make a decision for unknown reasons. The first reviewer recommended major revisions, the second felt my work was not suitable for the journal in terms of theoretical depth and innovation, and the third reviewer provided valuable suggestions and recommended that I submit my work to a conference instead, ultimately leading to a rejection. In the end, the AE decided to reject my paper.

Overall, despite the rejection, I personally feel that both the AE and the reviewers were quite diligent and responsible. The review comments were of high quality and will be helpful for further improving the paper.

This journal is really speechless. My article is about reinforcement learning of multi-agent reasoning prediction. The previous one said it was widely interested by the AIJ audience, but this time it was rejected for not being of widely reader interest. The journal clearly stated that it accepts articles on reasoning, planning, constraints, and the literature it accepts includes autonomous driving reasoning prediction, safe reinforcement learning. I also emailed the AE and the editor to appeal separately. The former said he wouldn't discuss this issue with the author, and the latter still said the reason for rejection was not a judgment on the quality of the paper, but a judgment based on the types of papers not being of widely reader interest. He himself is doing multi-agent reasoning, and is just talking nonsense. So speechless
