When two reviewers submit their comments, the manuscript status changes to AR. However, now at least three reviewers' comments are required to make a decision, so the AE changes the status back to UR. Once the third reviewer submits their comments, UR changes back to AR and AE can provide the final decision. After that, AR changes to UR again, and we await the decision of the editor-in-chief.

I submitted on June 24th and it has been under review ever since.

Now the review process at TSG is too slow! I have two papers submitted to TSG, one is in the second round of review and the other is in the third round. The second round has been under review for over four months, and it seems like there is an Indian reviewer deliberately delaying the process. (Not necessarily the Indian reviewer)
And then there is another paper in the third round of review, which was recently changed from under review to awaiting recommendation, then 10 days later changed back to under review, and a week later changed again to awaiting recommendation. What is going on? Has anyone else experienced a situation where a paper goes from under review to awaiting recommendation twice in one review process? I am nervous.

After four months of review, I feel that the evaluations from the three reviewers are acceptable. None of them directly rejected the paper and there is still room for revision. However, the editor still decided to reject it. It could be because the reviewers gave low scores, the editor is not interested in the topic of the paper, or simply because it lacks novelty.
