I collaborated with a team on a manuscript for two years. The editorial process was extremely slow, and the most frustrating part was that whenever there were slightly more comments from one reviewer in each round (and they always added 1-2 new reviewers each round), the editor would reject the manuscript but encourage resubmission. The submission experience was terrible, the editor showed no respect for the authors, and this will be the only article I submit in my lifetime.
