Submitted at the end of May after 25 years; minor revision on July 14th; minor revision returned on August 12th; second review approved on September 23rd; received formal acceptance notice in December. The journal has a lot of formatting requirements, and it took one month to revise the format after the second review was approved. It is recommended to finalize the format before submitting the manuscript.

The first and second reviews are quite lengthy, and once submitted, the status is under review. You don't know if it's being edited internally or externally reviewed. However, generally speaking, the longer the review, the better the outcome. The reviewers are likely foreigners, as they ask very insightful questions. After acceptance, it will take another two to three months for the final proofreading and publication.
