The first review feedback is not visible, but the second review feedback is normal and not many. The first review has two positive and two negative feedbacks, but one of the negative feedbacks is not sufficiently justified, and the other is clearly written without understanding the article. Therefore, an appeal may only pass.

I sent an appeal email about half a month ago asking for a resubmission and replied according to the opinions of the first review. The editor quickly only returned the opinions to one of the first reviewers and also returned the opinions. The second reviewer could not be found for two months, during which the editor was urged twice. Resubmitted in September 24, 24, and did not receive the second review until February 25.

It is said that a well-known foreign brand submitted an article to this journal, and the editor of the journal was apparently flattered (they prefer to curry favor more than foreign journals and are more discriminatory towards domestic submissions), so the article was accepted without review. The well-known brand said they will never submit to this journal again, even if it is a rubbish journal, it should still go through the review process. This seems to be the mentality of many domestic journals, as if they have never seen the world and are eager to kneel and flatter the well-known brands (both domestic and foreign), which is extremely unattractive. Especially in recent years, their editorial department has organized a series of so-called outstanding young scientist special issues, which is really low. In the same journal, are the works of outstanding young scientists of higher quality? The current editor-in-chief, Professor Zhang Xicheng, was the former editor-in-chief of OL, and his famous saying at the time was that during his term, his group would not submit to OL, and if anyone insisted on submitting, they were not allowed to use his name. Unfortunately, he cannot change anything about Light. Looking at Light, it is easy for editorial board members (especially in the early stages, almost random) and those with connections to publish, and there are those who rely on this to become outstanding young scientists, haha. Although it seems that everyone in China now recognizes it (it feels like a community of interests pushing it), if you really pay attention to this journal, whether it is the quality of work or the professionalism of the editors, it is far worse than Optica (I actually think it is not as good as LPR, at least more fair), let alone compared to NC (although their editors everywhere boast of not accepting rejections from NC, haha). This is also why so many people oppose the Chinese Academy of Sciences' division and forcibly promote domestic journals. What is the nature of domestic journals? They only know how to ruin the rules.
