The magazine is pretty good, but the review process is extremely slow. I submitted my article in October 2025, and in January 2026, it was rejected with encouragement to resubmit. It seems like the magazine didn't undergo major revisions, which is essentially what a resubmission entails. I sent it back for revisions in early March, and then began the long wait. I kept sending numerous emails during this period, but most of them went unanswered. Finally, in June, my article was accepted.

The classic and influential botanical journal has high impact and quality. In the field of biophysics, the first submission was reviewed within a week and the results were out within a month. After minor revisions, the paper was accepted directly. This was the smoothest experience I have had in submitting a research paper, with the whole process taking just two months. Additionally, it seems that this journal does not have major revisions, as any requests for additional experiments are usually rejected by the editors who encourage resubmission instead.

After submission, each author needs to confirm, and then it enters the QC process. The next day, it is under review, and a monitoring editor is assigned. The editor should review it first before deciding whether to send it out for external review.
