The review process of the journal is getting slower and slower. It has been almost 5 months since submission. The first two rounds of reviews were conducted by 3 reviewers each, and after making the required revisions, all 3 reviewers agreed to accept the paper. I thought everything was fine, but then the editor unexpectedly assigned a fourth reviewer and asked for another round of revisions from scratch. It seems endless. What kind of review process is this? Have any of you encountered similar situations?

This magazine should have cooled down. Section 2. And, some of the editors of this magazine do have issues. I had two opinions on my article during the first review. I carefully revised it according to the two opinions, and also spent more than 2000 yuan on revisions as requested by the editor. During the second review, theoretically it should have been sent to those two reviewers. However, the editor sent it to 12 reviewers, and five opinions came back. One new reviewer completely rejected it, while the other four had two acceptances and two minor revisions. The editor rejected the article based on the opinion of the reviewer who denied it. Such editors are speechless. I will not submit the same article to this magazine in the future.

Received reviewer comments around March 15th.
Revised and resubmitted on April 3rd.
Received feedback from 2 reviewers on April 11th, one reviewer did not reply, and 5 additional reviewers were invited.
This journal is terrible, getting worse and worse. If possible, avoid submitting to it as it wastes too much time.
